ICAPA SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

The Idaho Concrete and Aggregate Producers Association (ICAPA) has established a scholarship program to all Civil Engineering and Construction Management students that are currently enrolled at an Idaho University or College.

Applications must be received by the Scholarship Committee on or before May 31st, of current year. The name(s) of the recipient(s) of the scholarship will be announced by August 15th. Scholarships will be awarded jointly to the recipient and the College or University of their choice.

PURPOSE

The Scholarship Program is established to recognize, encourage, and assist promising students who have expressed an interest in pursuing a career in the field of Civil Engineering or Construction Management and have an association and/or interest in the concrete industry.

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT

ICAPA anticipates awarding scholarships totaling up to $4,000.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for the scholarship, all candidates must be currently enrolled and in good standing in a Civil Engineering or Construction Management program.

Junior College candidates must be working towards an Associate of Engineering degree in a Civil Engineering program. Junior College candidates must also include a letter of acceptance from any four year Civil Engineering or Construction Management granting institution within the state of Idaho.

All Applicants must have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours towards their declared degree.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

The Scholarship application shall contain the following attached information:

1. A fully completed Scholarship application form. (read and download below)
2. Letter(s) of recommendation.
3. An unofficial copy of your college transcript. Finalists may be required to provide an official transcript.
4. Two written summaries, each up to one page in length (approx 400 words). The first summary shall address your life experiences and career goals. The second summary shall address your future plans after graduation and how they relate to the concrete industry.
5. Past job experience (if any) in the concrete industry. (Please list companies and supervisor information).
6. Other associations within the concrete industry (i.e. research work, student affiliates of local & national organizations, etc).
7. Letter of acceptance from a 4 year Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree granting institution (Junior College applicants only).
